After arresting Oswald and collecting physical evidences at the crime scenes, the Dallas Police held Oswald at the police headquarters for interrogation. Oswald was questioned all afternoon about both the shooting of Tippit and the assassination of the President. He provided little information. Captain Fritz wrote afterwards a interrogation report from notes he made during the interrogatory.
The Dallas Police Department performed paraffin tests on Oswald's hands and right cheek to determine whether Oswald had recently fired a weapon. The results were positive for the hands.
The Dallas police investigation was stopped because of the assassination of Oswald, and transferred to the FBI.
